3. Pre-Intermediate:
You can communicate
adequately in most situations.
You can understand the main points in many English radio
or television programmes.
You can read and write personal letters.
4. Intermediate:
You can discuss and
understand complex arguments on familiar topics.
You can understand most television news, current affairs
programmes and films.
You can read modern novels and write essays, reports and
letters.
5. Upper-Intermediate:
You can communicate
effectively and fluently in complex social and
professional situations.
You can understand most television programmes and films.
You can read literary texts, and write about complex
subjects in letters, essays and reports.
You can communicate confidently, using idiomatic
expressions and colloquialisms.
You can understand any kind of spoken language, at fast
native speed.
You can read complex articles and literature and write
complex, stylistically-appropriate texts.
7. Advanced:
You can communicate
fluently, using idiomatic expressions and

8. Proficiency:
You can speak and
understand with the competence approaching that of your
first language.

The
Syllabus for English Course:
The course is taught by qualified and native English
speaking teachers from beginners to Proficiency level. Our
English teachers will help you improve your speaking and
writing abilities and also help those who wish to prepare
for Cambridge English Examinations. We emphasize on the
following five elements of teaching English language to our
students.
Reading:
You as a student will be
exposed to and shown how to deal with many different
types of reading materials from newspapers, business
letters, books and also other literatures and magazines
in order to improve your Reading skills.
Writing:
You will be taught all
the different writing styles not only creative writing
but also formal and business forms too, allowing you
therefore to write anything in English you choose.
Speaking:
Your speaking ability
will improve as you study and we at WECL feel that
this is an important part of each lesson. We also make
sure that you practise and improve your communication
skills at every given opportunity. We build confidence
in you by encouraging you to speak in class and we also
conduct group discussion sessions for all our students
in the classroom.
Listening:
Listening to
comprehensions is a very important element of the
English language course. Improving your listening skills
will help you in your social and work life and will also
help you to increase your confidence to a greater extent
to move forward on your career path. That is why WECL
pays special attention to it.
Grammar:
Grammar is the building
block of any language. Here at WECL, we cover all areas
of grammar at all levels. We make sure you identify the
difference and put it in practise in order to improve
your language skills.
Course Work:
Each level here has its
own course book which follows the Cambridge syllabus. A
technique that has had proven results which enables
students to pass all the exam set by Cambridge . Each
Course book includes the five above mentioned elements,
helping you to strengthen your weaknesses, no matter
what they are.
Selection Procedure:
To determine your level
of English, we take a test and also interview you in the
beginning itself so that you can be allocated to a class
at the right level. This helps you make rapid progress
in English and pass relevant internationally recognised
examinations.
