The UK Border Agency (UKBA), have confirmed that West End College London (WECL) has been awarded a license under the new Tier 4 Student Visa regulations, set to be implemented by the UK government in mid 2009.

WECL has achieved a Grade 'A' rating, which will not only enable it to continue to recruit students from overseas under the new regulatory visa system, but also provide them with essential sponsorship powers to help enable students to gain a student visa and come and study in the UK. The 'A' rating achieved by WECL is the top rating awarded by the UKBA and reflects that the UKBA
believe WECL has the appropriate systems in place to recruit and manage international students who study in the UK.

Under the new student tier 4, students who apply for a student visa to study in the UK must have a confirmation of acceptance for studies assigned by the college, and pass a points-based assessment. If a student plans to move colleges once their visa has been granted, they will have to apply for a new tier 4 visa in order to continue their studies at a different college.

Once the new tier 4 is implemented in March 2009, all UK education providers who do not hold a tier 4 license will be unable to recruit international students from outside the European Economic Area.
